Q. Just curious because one of my friend is Indian and she keeps telling me that Bollywood movies are more popular, yet I've never even heard of one in my life. I am more of a Korean, Japanese, Chinese, US films type of person. So considering that India is the 2nd most populated country in the world, that's probably where the "popularity" is coming from. She also tells me that they make 1000+ movies per year, but all I can think of is that the quality may be really poor that's why they can produce so many movies. Also I keep checking for top grossing films but most of the sites I visited only list out the US movies even if they say top movies in the World.
